About the EM Topics
Saturday, 17 March 2007

The EM Topics are intended to provide examples and discussion regarding various features of electromagnetism. I try to write these up whenever a similar problem presents itself in my work. This is why the order in which the topics are presented may seem to be random. Comments on the clarity of the entries, their accuracy, and their usefulness are always welcome.

Displaying mathematics on the web is still a work in progress. I previously tried to publish these items using developing standards, but with little success. While the output looked decent in some browsers, it was a tedious task to encode and left little ability for customization of the display. For this reason the EM Topics feature a combination of HTML character encoding and images of equations originally in LaTeX. This will occasionally lead to variables appearing different in the text as compared to the equations.
