A Windy Day in Los Angeles
Sunday, 07 January 2007
fallen trees at ucla
Two fallen trees due to high winds at UCLA.

On Friday, January 5, 2007 winds reached over 40 mph at UCLA (see story in the L.A. Times). Classes had not yet begun, so thankfully there were not many people around when two trees fell near the gym. This first picture shows two trees completely blocking the walkway between the gym and another campus building. The second picture shows the exposed roots from one of the trees.

uprooted trees at ucla
Fallen trees were completely uprooted by strong winds.

Campus facilities arrived and quickly disposed of the trees. They undoubtedly had a long day of such work.
